JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Mid-Level Full Stack Developer who is passionate about coding and has experience with both React and Node.js. The ideal candidate loves to write code and can efficiently deliver features both independently and with specific direction. You’ll be working on building out front-end and back-end systems using React (including hooks and classical components) and Node.js. This position requires a solid understanding of full stack development.

This role is fully remote, but candidates must reside on the East Coast or Midwest. Our team meets in person a few times a year around Chicago, and attendance at these meetups is mandatory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and maintain front-end and back-end applications using React and Node.js.
  • Write clean, maintainable code with an eye for detail and performance.
  • Utilize AWS services for application deployment, management, and scaling.
  • Collaborate with the development team to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Work with both classical React components and modern hooks.
  • Troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance and user experience.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles and contribute to delivering features on time.
  • Be comfortable receiving direction or working independently as needed.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of full stack development experience.
  • Strong experience with React, including hooks and classical components.
  • Proficiency with Node.js and Express for backend development.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience working with MongoDB and database design.
  • Experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, and Lambda.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and integration.
  • Familiarity with Git for version control.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of front end and back end development
  • Able to deliver code in a timely fashion
  • Familiarity with Postgres, RDS, Mongo or similar DBs.
  • Experience working in startup environments
  • Experience working in Health Care (HIPAA)
